A special send-off reception for our 21 Special Olympics GB #TEAMSOGB athletes representing the country at the Special Olympics World Winter Games in Austria will be held today at the offices of our founding sponsors Coca-Cola in Central London.

The Special Olympics World Winter Games is the biggest global disability sports event of 2017.

3,000 athletes with learning disability from 110 countries will come together and show their ability and passion.

Special Olympics GB ambassadors Colin Salmon and Downton Abbey star Jim Carter will be in attendance together with other well-known names and the national media.

Graz and Schladming in the Styria region of Austria will host the 2017 Special Olympics World Winter Games.

Austria will welcome almost 3,000 Special Olympics athletes from 110 nations to compete in nine winter sports.

This event in March will be the world’s largest sports and humanitarian event in 2017 and will be hosted by Hollywood star - the World’s most famous Austrian and Honorary President of these Games - Arnold Schwarzenegger.
