Registering to be a Volunteer
This guide outlines the process for registering as a Volunteer with Special Olympics GB, explaining which forms are necessary and when a DBS/PVG background check is required.
The process for volunteers:
It is assumed that the volunteer has been in contact with the group who they will be volunteering for, has identified and agreed what role(s) they will be fulfilling and been supplied with the following registration forms to read and complete:
- Volunteer Registration Form – this form is used to capture relevant personal and contact details, and includes names of two referees.
Guidance notes for the new Registration Form.
- V5 Volunteer Code of Conduct –This sets out the Code by which all Special Olympics Volunteers must agree to observe.
- V6 Equal Opportunities Monitoring – This form is not mandatory and the information requested is not recorded against the individual volunteers register entry.
Please note, the V3 Personal Disclosure Form is no longer required. Once all the required forms are completed and signed, they are sent to the NVO on the address included at the bottom of each form. As an alternative to posting, the forms can be scanned in and emailed.
