Special Olympics Great Britain has recevied confirmation on its allocated team delegation for Alpine Skiing and Figure Skating for the Torino 2025 Special Olympics World Winter Games, which take place from 8-16 March 2025 with travel required from 5-17 March 2025. 

The event will bring together up to 2,500 Athletes and Unified Partners, 625 coaches, 3,000 volunteers, thousands of staff, medical personnel, family members, media, guests, delegates, and more than 300,000 spectators from across the global Special Olympics movement. 

The eight winter sports disciplines of Alpine Skiing, Cross Country Skiing, Dance Sport, Figure Skating, Floorball, Short Track Speed Skating, Snowboarding and Snowshoeing will be divided between the venues of Bardonecchia, Sestriere and Pragelato .

The Opening and Closing Ceremonies will be held in Turin, at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.

Nominations for Athletes and Volunteer roles within the delegation will go live the week commencing 11 December 2023 and details of the forms will be shared directly with Special Olympics GB accredited programmes, which offer Alpine Skiing and Figure Skating, with the deadline for submission being Wednesday 24 January 2024.

Nominations for a Volunteer Assistant Head of Delegation and Head Coaches will close by 31 December 2023, with appointments made prior to the Folgaria 2024.
