Five members of Team Special Olympics Great Britain recently received a VIP experience at the prestigious BBC Sports Personality of the Year event in recognition of their achievements at the Berlin 2023 Special Olympics World Games.

In attendance to witness Lionesses goalkeeper Mary Earps take the prestigious Sports Personality of the Year Award were Monifieth Swim Club swimmer Taylor MacKenzie, who won two gold medals at Berlin 2023, Special Olympics Camden tennis player Lily Mills, who won a gold and bronze medal, Special Olympics Powys badminton player Ethan Orton, who won a gold and silver medal, Special Olympics Sheffield cyclist Niall Guite, who won a gold and silver medal, and Wakefield Hockey Club gold medallist Rob Crosse.

Staged at the Dock 10 Studios at Media City in Salford, Manchester, the five athletes and family members experienced a red-carpet arrival before joining sports stars from across the United Kingdom in the studio to enjoy the exclusive show
