“The Topgolf experience is such an inclusive way for our athletes to experience golf. It’s all target-based games and challenges on the driving range and the atmosphere is fantastic, with great music and food on offer.
By Chris Smith, Head of Sport for Development at Special Olympics GB

“Our initial pilot programme attracted more athletes as the weeks went on last year, so we’re really excited to get this next phase underway and look forward to unveiling more plans later in the summer, including a very exciting competition in September.”

Topgolf venues offer futuristic, target-themed golfing games, which use microchipped golf balls that are tracked and scored via computers in each driving range bay. It became a Special Olympics GB partner last year following the launch of a wider international partnership with Special Olympics, which will see it become a competition sport.

Additionally, Topgolf UK has committed to raising £25,000 for Special Olympics GB by donating £1 from the sale of its signature Double Smokehouse Burger.
