Special Olympics Great Britain is actively recruiting National Sports Advisors to support the development of opportunities for people with an intellectual disability across nine different sports.

These nine voluntary roles will work closely with Special Olympics GB’s Sport for Development Team to provide a high-quality service to our athletes, volunteers, clubs and programmes.

The National Sports Advisor positions are initially focused on the following sports:

  • Athletics
  • Alpine Skiing
  • Badminton
  • Basketball
  • Boccia
  • Gymnastics (artistic and rhythmic)
  • Swimming
  • Table Tennis
  • Tennis

“Through the recruitment process, we hope to identify candidates who are actively engaged with the current national, and potentially international, governing body. In turn they can identify sport-specific training opportunities and educational tools for coaches within the wider Special Olympics GB network, support the delivery of competitions and help ensure the best possible sporting experience for our athletes and volunteers.”

The application window for the National Sports Advisor roles is open now, deadline of close of business on Friday 23 August. Interviews and shortlisting will take place in September with the intension is to appoint candidates in October and start in early 2025.
