Mitch Camp
Mitch is the current chair of the Athlete Leadership Team in Great Britain. He is also the athlete representative for St Albans.
Mitch likes being part of the Athlete Leadership Team as it gives him an opportunity to develop whilst also being an ambassador for Special Olympics GB.
Having the opportunity to mentor and inspire future generations of athletes is important to Mitch, who believes it's crucial for athletes to ensure their voice is heard.
Mitch's personal hero is Jessica Ennis Hill. "The moment she won gold at London 2012 made me want to follow her foot steps".
Mitch currently trains in athletics and his favourite memory is winning gold in the Long Jump when I represented SO Great Britain at the 2015 World Games in LA. "I surprised a lot of people because it was a event I’ve struggled in previous occasions, but following the event, I recognised my achievement, and I discovered nothing is impossible".
Mitch wants to continue to mentor future generations of athletes and would also like to one day be a sports pundit.
