Peter Millar
Peter is a member of the athlete leadership and also a athlete representative for Ellesmere Port, Chester and Neston.
Pete believes it's important to be a voice for the athletes and enjoys being part of the athlete leadership team that are united together.
Leadership is important to Peter because he wants to help athletes succeed in their sports and be there for athletes if they have any issues or concerns. He believes leadership helps build your confidence and self esteem. Peter also likes that it will help you develop new skills and offer you new experiences.
Peter's greatest Special Olympics memory is playing doubles tennis with Mansour Bahrami at the Royal Albert Hall to highlight the work of Special Olympics.
Whilst Peter loves tennis, his main focus is now on competing and coaching table tennis. His focus over the next few years is to continue coaching his table tennis group at Ellesmere Port Chester and Neston so that the athletes can also fulfill their potential and goals.
Peter idolises Roger Federer because of his positive mindset and also sees Will Bayley (a Paralympian table tennis player) as a role mode, who despite his physical disabilities never gives up and promotes good sportsmanship.
