Taylor MacKenzie
Taylor MacKenzie, a 16-year-old swimmer from Dundee, Scotland, has made remarkable strides in the world of competitive swimming. Taylor discovered a profound sense of belonging and freedom in the water, stating, "Nobody judges me or my disability. It's where I feel happy and can be myself."
Taylor's dedication to swimming has led to significant accomplishments. At the 2023 Special Olympics World Games in Berlin, she secured gold medals in both the 200m and 400m freestyle events, becoming one of Team Great Britain's youngest competitors and medalists. Reflecting on her success, she emphasized the importance of focus and embracing nerves as a source of power during competitions.
Beyond her athletic achievements, Taylor is committed to inspiring others. In 2024, she participated in a Coca-Cola campaign aimed at motivating British Olympians competing in Paris.
