Emily Clarke
A badminton player from North Staffordshire and a member of the Athlete Leadership Team. Her involvement in Special Olympics has been transformative, providing her with opportunities to develop her skills and confidence.
Emily values the opportunity to help and encourage her teammates, and she finds joy in speaking up for athletes. Her goal as an Athlete Leader is to amplify the voices of those with intellectual disabilities and ensure their concerns are heard.
Emily has participated in various Special Olympics competitions and has achieved notable success, earning multiple gold, silver, and bronze medals. Her favorite memories include making new friends, helping others, and celebrating victories with her teammates. Looking ahead, Emily aspires to become an assistant coach and compete at a National Games in the next three to five years.
Outside the badminton court, Emily is a talented florist working from home, a venture supported by The Prince’s Trust. She balances her work with her hobbies, which include shopping, visiting her grandmother and reading.
